One of the most important things we can learn is to understand ourselves. It’s crucial to know the root cause of our behavior and how we can change it for the better. I believe that the sinful nature within us all is one of the root causes of many behaviors we face. This nature includes being selfish, lustful, greedy, envious, and hateful. When we fall into these patterns, it hurts us in the long run because our actions ultimately do not align with our higher selves. Each of us has the seeds of this sinful nature within us, and we can choose to do with it what we will.

But what is “nature”? Essentially, it’s a template or blueprint for a particular type of person. We each have our unique nature that shapes who we are and how we behave. For instance, I was reading in Romans 8 about how God does what we cannot do due to our weak, sinful nature. That resonated with me because I knew that I would never reach my full potential as long as my sinful nature was influencing me. I know now that I have a spirit within me because of my faith I have in Jesus Christ. I know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This is what I’m talking about when I say I have a sinful nature in me. Even though I acknowledge Christ as my Lord, I struggle to change my behaviors and align my actions with my beliefs. So in my effort to be more Christ-like, I’m turning to prayer to help me overcome my sinful nature so I can walk in righteousness and love. Prayer is one of the most important things that we can do to overcome the sinful nature within us. It can strengthen our faith and give us the strength to overcome adversity in our lives. We need the power of God working in us to overcome the darkness in our hearts.

But what is it in us that God helps us to overcome? Paul writes in Ephesians 5:24–25 that we are “to put off your old self… and put on the new self.” This means that we need to shed the old skin of our sinful nature and become more like the Jesus we serve. We are to abandon our old ways and be reborn in Christ so we can live a meaningful life here on earth. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to help us to do this. We can’t do this alone; we need the power of God’s grace to help us in this process. That is the Holy Spirit!

As we can see from this passage of Scripture, we are not alone. God is with us at all times, helping us to become better people and better followers of Christ. He always provides for us the things we need to do to become the servants we are meant to be. When we feel weak and afraid, we should remember that God loves us and He has not left us to fend for ourselves in this world. He is by our side every step of the way. All we have to do is reach out to Him and allow Him to work through us to change our lives for the better.

We have a nature of original sin we are all born in constantly fighting with God’s Spirit for control of our lives. This is why we must turn to God in prayer whenever we need guidance or strength. Prayer is a very important part of the Christian faith and should not be neglected. We should always pray to God for help and guidance when we need it.

I believe these “natures” we have within us give us directions as we have the freedom of choice to follow their paths of destruction or direction from God Almighty through the Holy Spirit available to us when we ask for Him to intervene with His power for good. Then we can conquer the bad habits and self-destructive tendencies that manifest themselves through our actions by not feeding them our weakness through the choices we make, but by our wills to use Jesus Christ to be the power source to overcome the obstacles placed before us by our adversary Satan who is intent on making our life miserable by seeking to destroy humanity in this present time and world which is under the curse of sin and death. In sin, we have death, but in Christ, we have everlasting life free from sin and death. Choose Wisely!

Thanks, and God Bless!
